Tex-Mex Pinto Beans
These Tex-Mex Pinto Beans are not hot or spicy. I don’t care for real spicy foods so I have kept the spices to a minimum. It you prefer spicy foods adjust the spices to your liking.
Ground Turkey – Turkey has more protein and less fat and cholesterol than any other meat. A good source of vitamins B3, B6, B-12, niacin, choline, selenium, zinc, potassium and phosphorus. Onions – the phytochemicals and Vitamin support your immune system, contains chromium to help stabilize blood sugar, and they are a scavenger of free radicals. Contains Vitamin B-6 and manganese and small amounts of calcium, iron, folate, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. Healthiest onions are the western yellow and shallots.
Carrots – high in Vitamin A, beta-carotene, can increase the health of your skin, improve eye-sight, boost your immune system, improve digestion, increase cardiovascular health, detoxify the body, and boost oral health.
Celery – high in Vitamin C which helps improve the immune system. Contains calcium, magnesium, and potassium and anti-inflammatory properties. Regulates the body’s alkaline balance, lowers bad cholesterol, lowers blood pressure and has Vitamin A for eye support.
Pinto Beans – rich in fiber known to reduce cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar levels. Contain molybdenum, folate, manganese, protein, vitamin B1 and minerals like iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous and copper.
Ground Cumin – high Vitamin E and Vitamin C content, for healthy skin and anti-aging. Antioxidant and anti-fungal properties. Aids digestion and supports a healthy menstrual cycle.
Ancho Chili Powder – The Capsaicin in the peppers may boost immunity, clear congestion, reduce cholesterol, and fight inflammation. High in Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin B. May relieve headaches, toothaches and sore throats.
